Changing Your Steel Guitar's Strings

Measure the string using the Tuning Machine posts, so that the overall length of the string is approximately 2 posts beyond the post to which you intend to attach the string.

SHOWN: attaching the 3rd string.
In the case of the 3rd string only, you will add
another 2 posts of length (as shown in the next 2 slides).
